Come on … people my age didn’t even think they would live to see them win a world series again … so let us not panic… yet.
… unless the “evil” Tampa Bay Rays sweep. They won the first one and now are 3 behind the Sox. The “Rays” … for fuck sake we should be talking about the Yankees not Tampa Bay. They play in a damned dome stadium and on artificial grass. That is not where baseball was meant to be played.
Richie Allen played for the Philadelphia Phillies in the 60’s and 70’s and he said “If a horse won’t eat it, I don’t want to play on it.” Richie liked to bet on the ponies.
I still love baseball and am trying hard to get by the “Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens … I’m clean era”. Baseball for me was all about statistics and those fans my age would know who was associated with 521, 344 and 406. Barry and friends took that all away from us and the worse part is my signed Roger Clemens baseballs are now probably worthless.
What to do … what to do … well I’m going to watch them play this week end and by 4:30 Sunday afternoon, when a good part of Red Sox Nation will turn to “the Brady bunch”, I would hope that a Fenway Park weekend lazier show had been orchestrated by Dustin and company.
Speaking of Tom Brady … how bout him asking the fans to get “luped up” before game time on Sunday. Hey Tom that’s all I needed was to be asked.
Oh sorry … wrong picture … I know I have one of Tom somewhere and as a matter of fact I have one of my daughter and Tom … ya think I can find it … I think I’ll try looking in
My Office … (Click here)
Come Monday morning we should all reflect on how fortunate we are to have the Red Sox and Patriots so that we can put unpleasant things in our lives aside for at least a few hours and perhaps get a “little lubed” doing it.
