My daughter… Alice and the “Massacree”

The Thanksgiving before the US Marine Corps came calling, my circle of friends and I (and a whole lot of others) discovered Arlo Guthrie’s song writing skills and were listening to a wonderful musical monologue  that became our anthem.

Ya gotta remember what was going on in those days and the song was a sure warning of what lie ahead for many of us.

… years later, radio stations all over the country continue to play this song on Thanksgiving Day… and for me … it isn’t Thanksgiving until I hear it.  If you live in the United States and have never heard this song you must be from another planet…posting it now is more for my friends and family living outside of the greatest f**king country in the world (though I would admit it does have some/many problems).

Could someone tell me where the people that designed the web site for the “Supreme One” came from?

…and could someone shoot the next person that comments about waste and fraud in government programs by saying “…yes I know the program has flaws but we’re only talking about one million, two million…one hundred million, a billion dollars.”  Pick a number, it doesn’t matter to these people because you and I are paying for it.

Speaking of numbers I just finished reading “The Brothers Bulger” by Howie Carr … just after I read Keven Cullen’s book “Whitey Bulger”.

Billy “I had the feeling that he was in the business of gaming” Bulger (former Massachusetts Senate President and Former President of the University of Massachusetts, now retired) or better known as the “corrupt midget” is paid around $12,000.00 per month, after taxes, by you and I.

The quote is from a question Billy was asked at a Congressional hearing on what he thought his brother did for a living…the gaming business… huh…

… and of John “Zip” Connolly and Whitey … I do hope they will be getting an extra serving of cranberry sauce at their respective Thanksgiving dinners.

Oh ya, Thanksgiving.

My daughter lives and works in Dublin, Ireland (Hubspot) and has invited around 25 people for Thanksgiving to our house in Clonegal/Abbeydown. She, Colleen, not Alice, is celebrating it on the 23rd.  So if anyone feels left out (like us), find your way to Clonegal and drop in for a taste and a beverage or two.

… and it will be just a taste because our oven barely fits a pheasant into it…

…perhaps this turkey will be cooked with “smoke and mirrors” just like the Celtic Tiger was.

All right now.

Happy Thanksgiving! … and God bless America and those that serve in our military.

Please consider giving to a Philippines typhoon charity…there are several, so do some research.
