I wonder how much this study cost us.
Sen. Tom Coburn released his latest “Wastebook” chronicling $25 billion tax dollars spent on 100 “silly, unnecessary, and low priority projects” this year. His findings are absolutely astonishing.
Coburn, who is retiring this year, is not letting his fellow Congressmen off the hook for the outrageous spending.
“Washington politicians are more focused on their own political futures than the future of our country. And with no one watching over the vast bureaucracy, the problem again isn’t just what Washington isn’t doing, but what it is doing,”
Here are some of the more outrageous examples from the 2014 Wastebook:
– $856,000 to study mountain lions on a treadmill-$171,000 for scientists to study gambling monkeys, hoping to find “secrets of free will”
For the time being I won’t go into the money we “give” countries that hate us.
Then again … the government’s announcement that some of the released Gitmo prisoners are back in the battle field preparing for revenge against the US came as a big surprise.
Ok let me get this right, we hire a company to deliver supplies to the space station and they build the rocket with 40 year old engines from Russia. Ah what the fuck it’s only 200 million.
Which reminds me of my favorite movie director Stanley Kubrick of 2001 Space Odyssey fame and Barry Lyndon, filmed in Clonegal Ireland. Yes Clonegal Ireland.
“Don’t let anybody tell you that it’s corporations and businesses that create jobs. You know that old theory, trickle-down economics. That has been tried, that has failed. It has failed rather spectacularly.” Hillary Clinton….Huh?
Does anyone watch the nightly news anymore? If you do I’m sure you notice that just about all the ads deal with medical issues. The Cialis and Viagra ads come to mind.
An erection that will not go away . If you have an erection that lasts more than 4 hours, get medical help right away…and the problem is?
Is there a Viagra equivalent for women?
Just thinking about disgraced former FBI agent John Connelly and how the “boys” are treating him in his crib. Gettin out soon…huh… I hope those designer suits you used to wear still fit. Call me and we’ll have lunch just like the old days.
And I recently heard “In My Life” sung by Judy Collins way back when…
“In My Life”
There are places I remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I’ve loved them all….
