my parade … when angels dance with the devil

IMG_6009

my parade is set for tomorrow

or maybe the day after

noon time i think

it all depends

where?  you ask

the road less traveled of course

but

soon discovered

colored balloons will line the route

with no clouds or rain in sight

sunshine will rule the day

with laughter, music and

more

the clowns

IMG_5971

will keep you amused

while the jugglers

will amaze you

the bands will play

throughout the day

IMG_5978

and

you might recognize

the songs

and wonder why

they  chose

sympathy for the devil

pleased to meet you

hope you guessed my name

don’t think twice

an’ it ain’t no use to sit and wonder why, babe

it don’t matter anyhow

my my, hey hey

out of the blue and into the black

they give you this but you payed for that

and once you’re gone, you can’t come back

when you’re out of the blue and into the black

my back pages

Ah, but I was so much older then I’m younger than that now

when i’m gone

All my days won’t be dances of delight when I’m gone

And the sands will be shifting from my sight when I’m gone

it will greet the night

and morning too

while the moon will point the way

to heaven and to hell

my parade is set for tomorrow

or maybe the day after

and I say, it’s all right

little darling

IMG_5992

you’re all invited

bring your friends

and put your dancing shoes on

because

i don’t really want to stop the show

but i thought that you might like to know

that the singer’s going to sing a song

and he wants you all to sing along

now it’s really quite simple

as simple as can be

all i want you to do

is live to dance and sing

so shine those shoes

and learn the lines

before

 angels dance with the devil

before

 the music stops

before

 the lights go out

and before

castles made of sand slip into the sea,
eventually
