7…11

I have seen the future of America and it is an eleven year old girl selling (or I should say trying to sell) mistletoe in Portland Oregon and a seven year old boy from Detroit. Continue reading

My daughter… Alice and the “Massacree”

The Thanksgiving before the US Marine Corps came calling, my circle of friends and I (and a whole lot of others) discovered Arlo Guthrie’s song writing skills and were listening to a wonderful musical monologue that became our theme song in 1967. Continue reading

Remembering friends…JFK and veterans

In case you you haven’t heard, it will soon be the 50th year anniversary of that terrible day in Dallas. People my age, remember, in detail, what they were doing and where they were when they found out about Kennedy’s assassination. Continue reading

Bunclody’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade

I did not attend last year’s parade…but my niece took her two little ones to the big event and reminded me that it was coming up and that one of the highlights of last year’s parade was a man driving a tractor in the procession with so much “muck” on it that the crowd could smell it as it passed.
